Native American Cultural Arts Festival

The Native American Cultural Arts Festival will be taking place on Jan. 20, 2012 from 5pm-10pm at 241 Victory Lane, "Firefighter's Receptional Hall", Lincoln, NE. The event is sponsored by the South East Nebraska Native American Coalition (SENNAC), Nebraska Arts Council, Ponca Tribal Youth Program, Indian Education-Lincoln Public Schools, Indian Center, Inc Youth Program and Native American Public Telecommunications. The event is free and welcomes all families to participate as there will be: Poetry/Music Jam, Short Films, Art Worshops/Displays, and award winning Native Hip-Hop Group "Culture Shock Camp" feat. NCAI Comes to LINCOLN!

On December 20, 2011 the Lincoln Journal Star (Kevin Abourezk) wrote an article about National Congress of American Indian (NCAI) coming to Lincoln in June 2012! Christmas Toy & Food Pantry Drive

This event features 2007 Native American Music Award Winner DARRYL "TONEMAH" (Singer/Song writter/Storyteller/Speaker/Comedian). Give with love this holiday season. Admission is: 1 Food item & 1 toy. All proceeds will go to needy families on the Omaha Reservation in Nebraska. If you can't make it to the show donations can be sent to Omaha Nation Community Response Team at P.O. Warrior Society of Omaha Nebraska

Warrior Society of Omaha Nebraska is sponsoring a Veteran's Day Celebration on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Fort Calhoun Community Building located at 11th and Monroe, Fort Calhoun, NE. Workshop for Youth Prevention

Darryl "Tonemah" Presents a Workshop for Youth Prevention
Come join the drug, alcohol prevention and personal wellness workshop. Dr. Darryl Tonemah will present a workshop geared to our Native American Youth for grades 6-12th. Parents/Guardians are welcome to join! The event will take place on Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Lincoln High School, 2229 J. Street, Lincoln, NE in the Lincoln High Cafeteria. Space Heater/Blanket Drive

The Indian Center, Inc will be a drop off location for SPACE HEATERS AND BLANKETS to donate to the families of Pine Ridge Indian Reservation located in South Dakota. Valery Killscrow Copeland and Ron Garvais have started efforts to collect donations throughout the months of October and November.

If you are interested in donating space heaters or warm blankets you can bring them to the Indian Center located at 1100 Military Road, Lincoln, NE 68508. Valery and Ron will transport the donated items to the reservation.

Please bring donated items into the Indian Center by December 16, 2011 at 5:00pm.
